Enclosure Systems

Uninsulated: For barns and other outbuildings that will be sheathed with boards visible from the inside, we install smaller timbers to serve as a nailing structure. Timbered window and door openings are also integrated into the frame, streamlining required on site labor.

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs): Pre-cut in a dedicated facility, panels are installed quickly at the site, leading to a weathertight structure in a short amount of time. A panelized enclosure system creates a very tight house with no thermal breaks.

Pre-Built Wall System: Using advanced framing, walls are pre-built on the deck and then attached to the timber frame after raising. This system allows for standard electrical and plumbing installation, while creating an energy efficient envelope.

Our Role in the Building Process

Maine Mountain Timber Frames can provide just the timber elements, oversee the entire project, or anywhere in between.

Working with Owner-Builders: We have had many great experiences working with people building their own homes. The timber frame provides the structure that the homeowner can then finish in their own time. Maine Mountain Timber Frames is there to consult with you throughout the process.

Working with General Contractors and Architects: Organized and timely, we work with you to make the process flow smoothly.

As the General Contractor: Whether a full timber frame building or a hybrid, we coordinate a trusted group of subcontractors to see your project through to completion.

Design/Build: Combining these two important components of the building process brings us in at the very beginning to put your ideas on paper and then make them a reality.
